MLY Rules

Main Line Yard Baseball & Softball, LLC Rules

Your job is To HAVE FUN, but be safe while you are at a MLY facility or participating in MLY hosted or sponsored events. In an effort to reduce the potential for injury, we ask that you become familiar with and abide by the rules below and, even more importantly, keep all your activities and movements within your own personal limitations and comfort level. DO NOT ATTEMPT anything that you are not capable of.

Main Line Yard, its Agents, and its other approved representatives will help ensure that rules and regulations are followed. Participants should not participate without a Main Line Yard approved representative present. In addition:

Fees must be paid and a waiver form must be signed before using the batting cages. If participant is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must execute this waiver form on behalf of the minor participant..

MLY Facility & House Rules

  • Helmets must be worn by all hitters in the batting cages.
  • Anyone throwing batting practice and/or pitching to batters must situate themselves behind a protective L-screen.
  • Any person entering the facility is expected to use common sense and maintain a proper lookout for their own safety.
  • Pitching Machines are not to be opened, fixed, or adjusted (speed / pitch / height) under any circumstances by anyone other than a Main Line Yard representative.
  • Only authorized MLY individuals are permitted to operate HitTrax and other facility systems / technology.
  • Sneakers and turf shoes are the only twear items permitted in the training area. No metal or molded cleats are allowed.
  • To limit clutter and tripping hazards we encourage all sports bags to remain in your vehicle. Only bring in equipment that is needed. Example helmet and bat only.

Food or Drink

  • Only water and sports drinks are allowed.
  • All other food or drink of any type is not allowed to be brought into the facility unless purchased at Main Line Yard.
  • No gum or sunflower seeds may be chewed while in a MLY facility.
  • No cigarettes or other tobacco products are permitted in a MLY facility.

Behavior

  • No person shall pull, hang onto or harm any of the netting in the batting cages and/or surrounding the training area.
  • Use all training and instruction equipment for its intended use only. Misuse of equipment could result in serious injury.
  • Horseplay or inappropriate behavior is not tolerated.
  • No throwing balls outside of netted/protected area inside MLY.
  • No spitting is permitted.
  • Place trash in appropriate receptacles.
  • Respect the facility, fellow players, MLY personnel and each other at all times. Only positive encouragement of your fellow athletes will be permitted.
  • Leave things better than you found them!

Failure to adhere to the MLY rules may result in loss of membership privileges and/or facility access.
